CAM Communications Expands in Fairfax County

Governor Warner announces company to create 31 new jobs

RICHMOND — Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that CAM Communications, Inc. (CAMCOM), a minority-owned provider of telecommunications related products and services, will expand its corporate headquarters in Fairfax County. Through a $400,000 investment, the company will create 31 new jobs.

"CAM Communications' expansion brings new quality technology jobs to Fairfax County," said Governor Warner. "I'm pleased the Commonwealth can assist with workforce services."

Established in 1991, CAMCOM engineers, furnishes materials, and installs central office telecommunications equipment, and provides voice and data management systems and networking solutions to Fortune 500 companies and government agencies.

CAM Communications CEO Carlos A. Munoz said, "My decision to expand CAMCOM at its existing location in Fairfax was based upon several major factors. With many local business relationships in place, the availability of public services and easy access to public transportation, it only made good business sense to expand where we were already established."

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership and the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority assisted CAM Communications with its expansion decision. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will support the project with its Workforce Services Program.

"CAM Communications is just one example of a Hispanic-owned technology company that is thriving in Fairfax County and contributing to the tremendous diversity of our business community," said Gerald E. Connolly, chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.
