Titan makes strong investment in Fairfax County; Defense/intelligence leader dedicates new D.C.-area HQ

Company will employ 1,000 at new center

Fairfax County, Virginia, September 14, 2004 — Titan Corporation, a California-based provider of information and communication services to defense and intelligence agencies, will dedicate its new Washington-area headquarters on September 15. Titan is basing its operations in the Reston area of Fairfax County at the 16-story Two Freedom Square building. The company will occupy virtually all of the building with about 1,000 employees.

Titan is one of the 25 largest employers in Fairfax County. The company has hired 1,800 employees this year, about one-fourth of whom work in the Washington area.

“The Reston location is a good base for us because it is close to the kind of skilled workers we need, it is close to Washington Dulles International Airport and many of our customers, and Fairfax County offers the kind of quality of life that our employees want,” said Larry Delaney, Titan’s executive vice president for operations.

“To be recognized in the business world as a premier location requires premier companies. A company like titan helps demonstrate that Fairfax County is a great place to do business,” said Gerald L. Gordon, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA).

Two Freedom Square is a 280,000 square-foot building in Reston Town Center. With more than 101 million square feet of office space, Fairfax County is one of the largest suburban real estate markets in the United States.

Business growth helps Fairfax County fund public services such as the nation’s top-rated public school systems that contribute to the quality of life. Fairfax County offers businesses a state-of-the-art telecommunications infrastructure, access to domestic and international markets through Washington Dulles International Airport and a well-educated workforce.

About Titan: Headquartered in San Diego, the Titan Corporation is a leading provider of comprehensive information and communications systems solutions and services to the Department of Defense, intelligence agencies and other federal customers. Titan has about 12,000 employees and annualized sales of about $2 billion.
