Triple Canopy, leading security services firm, relocates headquarters to Fairfax County
Company cites location near federal customers as key factor
Fairfax County, Virginia USA, July 19, 2005 – Triple Canopy, Inc., a leading provider of security personnel to U.S. officials in Iraq and elsewhere, will relocate its headquarters to Fairfax County to be closer to federal government agencies that are its main clients. The company will add about 100 jobs to the county economy. It is leasing 27,000 square feet of office space at 2250 Corporate Park Drive in the Herndon area of Fairfax County, which is minutes away from Washington, D.C.
Triple Canopy (www.triplecanopy.com) was founded in Lincolnshire, Ill., in 2003 by former members of the U.S. Army’s elite Delta Force. Clients include the U.S. State, Defense, Homeland Security and Energy departments. The company provides services based on its expertise in security analysis, planning, training and operations.
“Events overseas and Washington’s critical role in policymaking, decision-making and contracting all make this a smart move for Triple Canopy,” said company CEO Ignacio Balderas. “Moving to Fairfax County and the Washington area also will help us be a constructive voice in support of high standards in our industry.”
“L ocating here near the nation’s capital gives companies a leg up on winning federal business over companies based elsewhere, and I am delighted to see Triple Canopy join our business community to take advantage of the location and workforce advantages that Fairfax County offers,” said Gerald L. Gordon, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority.
Business growth helps Fairfax County fund public services such as a top-ranked public school system and library, public safety, social services and park systems that improve the quality of life. Fairfax County offers diverse real estate opportunities near Washington, D.C., access to domestic and international markets through Washington Dulles International Airport, a business community based on technology and professional services, and a well-educated workforce.
The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (www.FairfaxCountyEDA.org), which has been recognized by Site Selection magazine as one of the top economic development groups, promotes Fairfax County as a business and technology center. The FCEDA assists businesses by identifying possible sites and facilities, and provides demographic and economic statistics.
