Fairfax County experts available to discuss Census Bureau data on increase in minority and woman-owned businesses
Fairfax County , Virginia USA—The U.S. Census Bureau on July 28 is releasing data on the growth of minority- and woman-owned companies around the nation. Fairfax County, just outside Washington, D.C., has a strong contingent of companies owned by African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Hispanics and women. The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority can help journalists with this story in two ways:
- If you would are interested in speaking with companies owned by African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Hispanics or women, we can supply a list of companies and contacts in each category.
- Gerald L. Gordon, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, will be available for interviews July 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dr. Gordon has a doctorate in economics and has led the FCEDA to broaden outreach efforts to minority- and woman-owned companies.
For more information on either of these angles, please contact Alan Fogg at 703-790-0600 (o), 571-213-5065 (m) or afogg@fceda.org.
