ETG, Inc. secures new headquarters location in Fairfax County
Woman-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned IT company relocates HQ from Alabama
Fairfax County, Virginia USA, October 3, 2005 – The Emerging Technologies Group, Inc., (ETG) a woman-owned, s ervice-disabled veteran-owned small business that provides network security and computer forensics expertise to government agencies, law firms, and commercial business entities, has relocated its corporate headquarters to Fairfax County from Huntsville, Ala. Fairfax County is minutes from Washington, D.C., and it is home to more than 4,700 technology companies. Many large defense companies have significant information technology operations in the county.
ETG (www.etginc.com) is headed by President and CEO Tiffanny L. Gates, a 1995 graduate of the United States Naval Academy. The company has leased 13,100 square feet of office space at 205 Van Buren Street in the Fairfax County town of Herndon. ETG’s office includes a secure, compartmentalized information facility (SCIF) and a state of the art computer forensics laboratory. The company has 35 employees and plans to expand to 50 employees by the end of 2005.
ETG supports defense and intelligence agencies in locations around the world and is expanding its business areas to include commercial litigation support, e-discovery, data recovery and due diligence operations. ETG employees are experts in computer forensics, network intrusion detection, network traffic analysis, firewall vulnerability testing, systems engineering and intelligence analysis.
“This was a logical move because so many of our existing customers are here, the majority of our workforce is home-based here, and the business opportunities are greatly increasing in this area. We can serve both public and private sector clients well from this location, and the kind of quality of life our employees want is here,” Gates said. “We also received great support from the Fairfax County EDA as we relocated and expanded.”
“ETG is a perfect match for the kinds of assets that Fairfax County offers – a large technology community with deep roots in the public and private sectors, a tremendous expertise in intelligence and defense activities. We are proud that this dynamic company is expanding here,” said Gerald L. Gordon, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA).
Business growth helps Fairfax County fund public services such as a top-ranked public school system and library, public safety, social services and park systems that improve the quality of life. Fairfax County offers diverse real estate opportunities near Washington, D.C., access to domestic and international markets through Washington Dulles International Airport, a business community based on technology and professional services, and a well-educated workforce.
The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (www.FairfaxCountyEDA.org), which has been recognized by Site Selection magazine as one of the top economic development groups, promotes Fairfax County as a business and technology center. The FCEDA assists businesses by identifying possible sites and facilities, and provides demographic and economic statistics. The FCEDA’s Capital Attraction Program links technology entrepreneurs with potential investors, and another program supports the growth of small and minority-owned companies.
