Fairfax County honors chambers of commerce during the week of Feb. 19-25
County board resolution, FCEDA event salute local business organizations
Fairfax County , Virginia, February 6, 2006 – Fairfax County is preparing to honor the work of all the chambers of commerce that represent thousands of businesses and improve the quality of life of the county by supporting a strong business base.
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors has passed a resolution declaring the week of Feb. 19-25 as Chambers of Commerce Week in Fairfax County to recognize the work of the chambers in supporting the business community. At 10 a.m. on February 22, the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority will host a reception at FCEDA headquarters to honor 12 business organizations. And on February 24, a two-page Washington Business Journal ad sponsored by the FCEDA will recognize the chambers.

- Greater Falls Church Chamber of Commerce
- Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce
- Greater Merrifield Business Association

- Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce
- Herndon Dulles Chamber of Commerce
- Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce
- Northern Virginia Technology Council
- Vienna-Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce

Gordon, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority. “These groups provide us with important connections to businesses countywide, large and small, and work with us to help companies stay and grow in Fairfax County.”

The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (www.FairfaxCountyEDA.org) promotes Fairfax County as a business and technology center. The FCEDA assists businesses by identifying possible sites and facilities, and is a source for up-to-date demographic and economic information. The FCEDA’s Capital Attraction Program links technology entrepreneurs with potential investors. Another program supports the growth of minority and woman-owned businesses.
