Fairfax County EDA receives “Creative Excellence Award” for advertising campaign
2005 ads emphasize high quality of life
Fairfax County, Virginia USA, January 23, 2006 — The most recent advertising campaign by the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) has been honored with a “Creative Excellence Award” given by Time Warner/MNI Capital Region. MNI production staffers judged the FCEDA ads best out of eight campaigns that ran in the Washington, D.C., area.
The “Your Life. Balanced” campaign touts Fairfax County’s quality of life through a series of three print advertisements. The ads link quality of life features – the top-ranked Fairfax County Public Schools, wide array of cultural and entertainment options and the outstanding recreational opportunities – to a dynamic business community that creates wealth and makes many of the opportunities possible.
“We are delighted with this recognition of our advertising campaign,” said Gerald L. Gordon, Ph.D., president and CEO of the FCEDA. “We’ve received a great deal of positive feedback from this campaign. The quality of life theme has struck a chord with business people and residents alike.”

The FCEDA places its advertising in the MNI network of business magazines, including Business Week, Fortune, Forbes, Inc. and Money. Siddall Inc., of Richmond, Virginia, designed the advertisements.
Business growth helps Fairfax County, minutes from Washington, D.C., fund public services such as a top-ranked public school system and library, public safety, social services and park systems that improve the quality of life. Fairfax County offers diverse real estate opportunities, access to domestic and international markets through Washington Dulles International Airport, a business community based on technology and professional services, and a well-educated workforce.
Time Warner/MNI (www.mni.com) is the local market advertising sales representative for 41 national publications in more than 145 markets, and offers direct mail and online opportunities. The company is in its 40 th year in business.
