Fairfax County EDA announces Dec. 12 seminar on winning business with U.S. governments

Panels address strategies for tapping into the $4.5 trillion U.S. market

Fairfax County, Virginia USA, November 27, 2007 The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) is organizing a seminar on December 12  in the Tel Aviv area to show Israeli companies how to win business with the world’s largest consumer of goods and services, and its biggest technology buyer: the U.S. government.

The “B2G (Business to Government) Seminar” will be held at Tel Aviv’s Dan Acadia Hotel in Herzelia on December 12 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Registration is through the FCEDA’s Tel Aviv office Web site: http://www.reg.co.il/fairfax/index.html.

“The goal of the program is to show Israeli business people the nuts and bolts of getting into the U.S. federal market and why Fairfax is the best place for them to do it,” said Gerald L. Gordon, Ph.D., president and CEO of the FCEDA. “As the largest home of federal contractors in the nation, Fairfax County is well positioned to offer the kinds of assets that are invaluable to companies seeking to do business with the U.S. government.”

Guest speakers will highlight many key trends affecting expansion into America’s markets, and selling strategies for the U.S.’s $4.5 trillion federal, state and local government marketplace. Topics include continuing investment in national defense and homeland security technologies; new guidelines favoring increased competitive commercial sourcing, e-government applications and infrastructure; IT modernization initiatives and more.

The day includes presentations on government opportunities, barriers to entry and ways to lower them from Brian Flood, senior vice president at Federal Sources, Inc.; Mark Hogan, CEO of Government Sales Force, and Morris DeFeo of the Crowell & Moring Corporate Group. The full schedule is available at http://www.reg.co.il/fairfax/agenda.html.

The event is 180NIS for the full day (140NIS for members of sponsoring organizations).  In addition to the FCEDA, sponsors include the Israel-America Chamber of Commerce and Industry, The Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute (IEICI), Government Sales Force, Federal Sources Inc. and Crowell and Moring Corporate Group.
