Popular “Starting a Business in Fairfax County” seminars continue in 2007
Workshops assist entrepreneurs with information and resources
Fairfax County , Virginia USA, January 3, 2007 - The popular “Entrepreneurship 101: Starting a Business in Fairfax County” seminars will continue in 2007 with nine sessions scheduled for the year. The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) conducts the workshop for individuals interested in beginning a business in the county. More than 1,000 people have attended the sessions since 2003.
The 2007 dates are January 9, February 6, March 6, April 3, May 1, June 5, September 11, October 2 and November 13. Workshops are not scheduled for July, August or December.
The FCEDA hosts the workshops in partnership with the Virginia Department of Business Assistance (DBA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The sessions provide an overview of start-up basics (licenses and permits); DBA workforce service and training programs; and SBA financing and certification resources.
The workshops generally are held on the first Tuesday of each month at FCEDA headquarters, 8300 Boone Boulevard, Suite 450, in Vienna (Tysons Corner). Sessions begin at 8 a.m. with refreshments and networking. The workshops are free but pre-registration is required. Interested participants can register on the FCEDA’s Web site at www.FairfaxCountyEDA.org.

The FCEDA’s Capital Attraction Program links technology entrepreneurs with potential investors. Another program supports the growth of minority and woman-owned businesses.
