Michael Lewis, William Soza reappointed to the
Fairfax County EDA Commission

Fairfax County , Virginia , July 6, 2007 – The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors reappointed Michael Lewis and William Soza to the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) Commission. The four-year terms expire in July 2011. The Board of Supervisors appoints seven members of the business community to oversee the work of the FCEDA, which promotes Fairfax County as a business location.

Will Soza has been a member of the FCEDA Commission since 2000. He is chairman of Fairfax County-based Security One Bank, and is a member of the George Mason University Board of Visitors. He was principal of Soza Associates, CPAs, and previously was chairman and CEO of Soza & Co., Ltd., an information technology and consulting company, which he began in 1969 as an accounting firm. He is a former trustee of the George Mason University Foundation. He was named the 1998 Hispanic Business Man of the Year by the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and received the 2007 Excellence in Leadership & Community Service Award from the Northern Virginia Urban League. He lives in McLean.

Mike Lewis has been a member of the FCEDA Commission since 2004. He is president of Liberty Capitol, a Fairfax County-based finance and managing consulting firm that operates in the disciplines of aerospace, defense, and counter-terrorism for U.S. and international companies in areas of marketing, business development, and access to capital. Previously he served as chief enterprise officer for the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He is a past chairman of the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce and has chaired its NOVABizPAC. He is on the board of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce and serves on the board of trustees for the University of Virginia Athletics Foundation. He is a member of the Tysons Corner Land Use Task Force, and he lives in Tysons Corner.

“The Fairfax County EDA is effective to a great extent because it is governed by the business community. The counsel and guidance of senior executives such as Will Soza and Mike Lewis represent an extraordinary contribution to the community,” said Gerald L. Gordon, Ph.D., president and CEO of the FCEDA.

Business growth helps Fairfax County, just outside Washington, D.C., fund public services such as a top-ranked public school system that improve the quality of life. Fairfax County will host the 2007 National Conference on the Creative Economy (www.creativeeconomies.org) in October.

The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (www.FairfaxCountyEDA.org) promotes Fairfax County as a business and technology center. The FCEDA maintains marketing offices in Silicon Valley, Bangalore, Frankfurt, London, Seoul and Tel Aviv.
