Fairfax County EDA again hosts free export development workshops and counseling services
Fairfax County, Virginia USA, January 4, 2008—The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA), in partnership with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership and the U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Department of Commerce, will host three workshops early this year to assist Fairfax County businesspeople who are interested in exporting goods and services.
The workshops highlight state and federal government resources, how businesses can research their markets, the exporting process and export financing. They are scheduled for January 29, February 26 and March 25, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the FCEDA office in Tysons Corner. Workshops are free, but pre-registration is required. For more information, call 703-790-0600 or register at www.fairfaxcountyeda.org/export_workshop_form.htm. Those who attend all three sessions will receive a certificate of training.
In addition to this export workshop series, the FCEDA provides export counseling services through an arrangement with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership. An international trade specialist is available at the FCEDA office. There is no charge, but appointments are required. To meet with the representative, call 703-790-0600.
“Workshops and services like these allow Fairfax County’s small and mid-sized businesses to take the greatest advantage of a wide range of support services to initiate and grow their export programs,” said Gerald L. Gordon, Ph.D., FCEDA president and CEO. This is the third year the FCEDA has hosted the workshops.
