Diane Hardison Joins the FCEDA as Director of Marketing

Fairfax County, Virginia, August 18, 1997 — Dianne S. Hardison has joined the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) as the Director of Marketing. In her new position, Ms. Hardison will be responsible for all the FCEDA's domestic marketing activities. Her primary responsibilities will be to attract information technology and telecommunications, space commercialization and biotech companies to the County, as well as expand services for existing firms. She will also be responsible for the FCEDA's Capital Attraction Program.

Ms. Hardison, a Fairfax County native, has had an extensive career working for Northern Virginia Community College, Karen Johnson and Associates and, most recently, Virginia's Center for Innovative Technology (CIT). While at the CIT, she served as State Manager for the Technology Assistance and Transfer Program and then in the last two years she was Regional Director of the program. While at the CIT, Ms. Hardison managed the technology-based economic development programs providing technical, business and financial assistance to small- and medium-sized businesses and worked with agencies of the federal government including NASA, the Naval Research Lab, and the Thomas Jefferson Lab in Hampton, VA.

Ms. Hardison is enrolled in the Ph.D. program in human resource development at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She has a M.A. in history from the University of Dayton and a B.A. in French from the Virginia State University.

The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority works to attract businesses to the County and to retain existing businesses.
