Six Companies Expand or Relocate to Fairfax County During the Past Three Months
Fairfax County, Virginia, September 9, 1998 During the past three months, six corporations expanded or relocated their operations in Fairfax County, according to the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA). As a result of the announcements, 529 new jobs will be added to the Countys economy. Typically, it is assumed that every new job added to the workforce spins off two to three jobs in the secondary economy.

These corporate expansions and relocations indicate the continuing strength of the Fairfax County economy. Many of these companies are technology-based and are finding what they need in Fairfax County a state-of-the-art telecommunications infrastructure, access to domestic and international markets through Washington Dulles International Airport, proximity to their employees and an excellent quality of life.
