The name Cernium is derived from the Latin root word cernere, meaning “to perceive.”

Cernium is privately funded. The majority investor is Lurie Investments.

Cernium develops products that use video to deliver visual information for better security, communications and lifestyle management.

Who are your primary customers? 
Customers represent markets from residential and small-medium business consumers to Fortune 100 manufacturers, government, health care, transportation, hospitality, education, entertainment and major cultural institutions.

How many employees do you have and how many do you anticipate hiring in the next 12 months?
Cernium currently has over 50 employees, more than 20 of whom were hired during 2009. The majority of our employees are based at our Reston headquarters.
