When was your company established?
comScore was founded in August, 1999 by Dr. Magid Abraham and Gian Fulgoni. The company’s initial U.S. database was completed in December, 2000 and its services launched commercially in January, 2001.

What is the origin of your company name?
The comScore name encapsulates “computers, commerce, consumers, clickstream, and communication”—in essence, every part of the .com world.  Through our vast panel and site measurement approaches, we are able to keep score on all facets of the Internet economy.

Who owns your company?
comScore became a public company in July, 2007.  The common stock is listed on NASDAQ with the stock symbol SCOR.

What is the main business focus of your Fairfax County office?
Members of the company’s executive, sales and marketing, client services, product management, analytics, legal, engineering, finance and human capital teams reside in comScore’s  Reston, Virginia headquarters.
 
Who are your primary customers?
Marketers, publishers, advertising agencies and financial analysts turn to comScore for state of the art syndicated and custom solutions needed to craft successful marketing, sales, product development and trading strategies. This includes many of the largest financial services, pharmaceutical, media, telecom, consumer package goods and retail companies.   In addition, comScore markets products and services into the federal and public sector marketplace. These sectors are investing heavily in their web presence, making their sites more citizen-centric and bringing with that presence a heightened focus on transparency, accountability and precise measurement.

What are the advantages of your Fairfax County location?
comScore moved its headquarters to the Reston Town Center in June, 2008.  Reston is a dynamic and desirable business setting, with good transportation options and a vibrant social setting.  This location allows us to recruit from top undergraduate schools.  In addition, it puts comScore in close proximity to many of our large customers and prospects.  Overall, it adds to a positive and dynamic work environment – reflecting comScore’s culture.

Where do you see your business in five to 10 years?
In August, 2009 comScore will celebrate its 10 year anniversary. The company has established an impressive track record of ‘industry firsts.’ From e-commerce to search and video to the extended web, comScore is a digital media pioneer. As the company looks ahead, it will continue to strive to be an industry leader and innovator, providing its clients with the quality service, offerings and solutions they have come to expect throughout the past 10 years.   In addition, we expect to see organic growth coming from new markets, both domestic and international, as well as an increased presence in the federal and public sectors.
