1996

• What is the origin of your company name?

Lore was originally started by Microsoft employees, and over the years has turned into a turnkey IT solutions provider.  They founders felt that the name Lore is representative of intelligence and wisdom. 

• Who owns your company?

Lore is owned by venture capitalists.  The founder was Mike Velotta.

• What is the main business focus of your Fairfax County office?

Our main business focus is bringing innovative IT and communications solutions to market.  Technology is constantly changing and we aim to always be the experts for our clients on what is new and on what will make their businesses more successful. 
  

• Who are your primary customers?

Our primary customers are small to medium sized businesses. There are no particular verticals that we target, as  all businesses have technology and communications needs with which we can help. 

• What sets you apart from your competitors?

Our level of expertise and customer service.  Lore has kept the idea of “hands on” very much alive.  We do not believe in our clients being an account number, but rather individuals that staff are familiar with. Since we are always researching and utilizing the newest technology, our clients feel open to come to us for advice on next steps for their technology and communications projects.

• How many employees do you have and how many do you anticipate hiring in the next 12 months?

Currently, Lore has 36 employees. We hope to double that in the next 12-18 months.

• What are the advantages of your Fairfax County location?

This location puts us in the heart of the Metro area and, as such, we have access to some of the most highly skilled people in the nation's technology field.  The central location allows us to be close to our clients if they should need on site services, or representation.   

• Where do you see your business in five to 10 years?

We are expecting explosive growth in the upcoming years.  Across the U.S. and in Asia and Europe, Lore anticpeates opening up to 50 offices in the next 5-10 years.
