1. When was your company established? 1976
2. What is the origin of your company name? Theodore Zeigler invented pop-up displays and founded Nomadic to manufacture and distribute his innovative display system, Instand®. Exhibitors were freed from the burden and expense of traditional exhibits that required warehousing, crated shipment and contract labor. More than 35 years later, pop-up displays remain among the most popular exhibits in the world.
3. Who owns your company? Nomadic Display is privately held.
4. What is the main business focus of your Fairfax County office? Two companies are co-located here:
Nomadic Display (Corporate) is our worldwide headquarters and North American manufacturing facility.
Nomadic Display Capitol is one of our direct Sales Offices that serves the Washington Metropolitan area.
Today our primary focus is designing and building custom modular and portable exhibits and producing graphics for face-to-face events. Our display solutions are principally used in the trade show and corporate events arenas.
5. Who are your primary customers? Nomadic Display (Corporate) supports our direct sales offices that serve Washington, DC, New York City, New Jersey and Las Vegas, as well as over 100 distribution partners located throughout the United States, Canada, Central and South America.
Nomadic Display Capitol serves federal, state and local governments as well as public and private sector businesses from small to Fortune 500 in the Washington metropolitan area.
6. What sets you apart from your competitors? Hallmarks of the Nomadic Display brand are high quality and ease of use. Over the years we’ve established a reputation for excellence that has been recognized internationally with multiple design and product innovation awards. Our product lines integrate with one another which enable them to grow, adapt and be repurposed to meet changing business needs. We also back our products with an industry’s best Lifetime Warranty. So, our clients get a lifetime of use out of their high quality presentation when they invest in a Nomadic display.
As an international organization, we're also uniquely capable of producing dynamic selling environments - - from concept to completion - - on both sides of the Atlantic. Nomadic owns and operates a manufacturing facility in Ireland and has direct Sales Offices in London and Frankfurt which are among the top locations for major exhibitions. In addition, we have over 200 distribution partners located throughout Europe, Asia, and the Pacific.
With manufacturing facilities dually located in the United States and Europe, Nomadic is uniquely capable of designing and producing trade show displays in either location serving the needs of international exhibitors. By entrusting Nomadic Display with their exhibiting needs companies save time, money and the stress of managing their presence internationally.
7. How many employees do you have and how many do you anticipate hiring in the next 12 months? We currently have 94 employees at our corporate headquarters in Northern Virginia and anticipate hiring up to 3-6 employees within the coming calendar year.
8. What are the advantages of your Fairfax County location? Located just off of Edsall Road strategically positions us to be easily accessible to our customers and partners. Local clients from DC, Maryland and Virginia can visit our 8,000 sq ft showroom in no time. Out of town clients have a short drive from Dulles or Reagan airports or Amtrak which connects to the Springfield metro stop. Our building is visible to daily commuters traveling along I-395. From a manufacturing stand point, close proximity to the I-95 corridor makes the shipping and receiving of raw materials extremely efficient for Nomadic and our clients.
9. Where do you see your business in five to 10 years? In the past, Nomadic has largely focused on designing and building displays for the trade show industry. Today, companies need their display properties to be more versatile than ever. Businesses large and small need dynamic presentations to bring to conferences and events, use in their lobby entrances, or simply as broadcast backdrops for live events. Anytime a company needs a branded environment, our products work!
The Rental Revolution: In the past ten years, we’ve added a division to provide a full range of rental exhibit properties for customers exhibiting at tradeshows. Renting a tradeshow exhibit is a great solution for customers that have an evolving tradeshow schedule and don’t want to commit to one exhibit.
Trade Show Graphics: In the past five years, we’ve added a graphics division to provide inkjet and printed fabric solutions for customers. The use of fabric in tradeshow environments is growing for two main reasons. First, the image quality and color saturation is unrivaled. And secondly, fabric is a cost effective option if you’re covering a large area and want a light weight solution. Using printed fabric applications to create the look of a solid structure is currently very popular in tradeshow environments.
Our NomadiForecast: We anticipate on continuing to invest in new printing technology where we can combine current fabric trends with light weight and environment friendly solutions for our customers. We will continue to see significant growth in our graphics division and rental division in years to come.
