1999.

What is the origin of your company name?
Our Co-founders,k Laila and Adam Rossi, are native to Virginia and met on their first day of business school.  After working through the Virginia Tech MBA program together, and marrying, they started their technical careers at Accenture and PricewaterhouseCoopers, respectively, eventually founding Platinum Solutions.

A few weeks before they incorporated the company, the Rossis decided their company needed a logo that had a natural/environmental element and they both agreed upon the maple leaf.  Since the newlyweds wore platinum wedding bands they decided platinum would be part of the name and they added ‘Solutions’ so that their customers would know that they were service and solutions oriented.

What is the main business focus of your Fairfax County office?
Platinum Solutions is an award-winning leader in systems integration and collaborative solutions for improving business and government operations. Our customer focus during the past seven years has been on those federal agencies responsible for the public safety, criminal justice, national security, and public health of our nation. With particular expertise in healthcare, law enforcement, intelligence, defense, and national security, we offer creative solutions to those responsible for ensuring the nation’s security and public safety.

Who are your primary customers?
Platinum Solutions, Inc., develops custom software based on open standards and an agile methodology so our clients can quickly respond to a changing world. We offer creative solutions to those responsible for ensuring the nation’s security and public safety. Briefly, Platinum Solutions creates software that saves lives. Our software helps the federal government monitor terrorist communications, arrest violent criminals, and improve the safety of prescription drugs.

Platinum Solutions serves federal law enforcement, intelligence, and defense agencies that demand innovative software solutions to support mission-critical operations. Platinum Solutions is currently serving sixteen operational units of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to support the FBI’s mission in counterterrorism, critical incident response, cryptanalysis, violent criminal apprehension, computer forensics, and cyber crime prevention. Platinum Solutions is also developing secure enterprise information systems for Department of Defense clients including the United States Navy, United States Marine Corps, United States Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM), the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), and various other agencies in the federal intelligence community.

In addition, Platinum Solutions has applied its data collection and analysis expertise to agencies outside the law enforcement and intelligence sectors such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). For the FDA, we are continuing to expand the capabilities of the Document Archiving, Reporting, and Regulatory Tracking System (DARRTS) that has become the central component of the FDA’s enterprise solution for the approval of new drugs and medical devices.

The future of Platinum Solutions centers on its most important asset: the employees. We will continue to focus on results and to exceed our client's expectations. Our business development plans include honing our expertise and identifying and supporting projects that maintain the safety and security of our communities and the nation. We will continue to place a major focus on project in the areas of law enforcement, healthcare, intelligence, defense, and national security.

Platinum Solutions will continue to involve our employees with the business.  We will continue to listen to employee’s valuable input regarding our growth. To increase employee retention, will make changes to our work environment based on feed back from employee surveys related to company-provided training, our Mentoring program, an discussions that occur during performance evaluations.
