Economic Development Marketing Manager– U.S. Hispanic Markets
Fairfax County Economic Development Authority seeks a dynamic and highly motivated individual to promote Fairfax County. This position is within the Small and Minority Business Development Marketing division and works in coordination with others to provide assistance and information to the Hispanic business community.
Specific responsibilities include: developing prospects for business relocation and retention, making presentations to clients, managing prospect caseload and ongoing prospect development programs, and conducting visits to companies locally. The individual should be a self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, be well organized, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and know the issues affecting Fairfax County with an understanding of business location issues.
The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree along with 3-5 years professional experience in economic development, a master’s degree may substitute for some years of experience. The successful candidate will have had experience in business development and working with minority-owned technology firms. Written and verbal fluency in Spanish is required.
Strong people skills and customer orientation are a must; some travel is required. Salary is $57,500 - $66,500, based on experience.
Appointee will be required to submit to a criminal background check. Appointment will be contingent on satisfactory results of the background check. The position is attached to Fairfax County government for payroll and like all FCEDA positions, is exempt from county civil service rules and regulations.
