Fairfax County EDA works with 29 businesses adding almost 1,100 jobs to the local economy

Major announcements come from EY, cyber- and homeland security firms

Fairfax County, Virginia USA— During the third quarter of 2015, the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) provided services and resources to 29 businesses that are adding almost 1,100 jobs in Fairfax County. Many of these businesses are in the information technology and professional services sectors, and four are foreign-based firms using a Fairfax County location to expand in North America.

The largest announcement during the quarter came from accounting and consulting firm EY, which will add 462 jobs as it moves into a new Tysons Corner location. Other prominent announcements:

  • Management services contractor The Mayvin Consulting Group, Inc., a woman-owned small business, which relocated to the Annandale area and is adding 95 jobs based there;
  • Business software developer Appian, which is adding 90 jobs in the Reston area;
  • Homeland security consulting firm CRA, Inc., which relocated to the Tysons Corner area and is adding 89 jobs there;
  • Cybersecurity firm ScienceLogic, which is adding 59 jobs in Reston; and, 
  • LifeFuels, which is developing nutrition technology, adding 32 jobs in Reston.
