Fairfax County EDA works with 46 businesses adding almost 2,000 jobs to the local economy

Fairfax County, Virginia USA, Tuesday, May 1, 2012 -

During the first quarter of 2012, the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) provided services and resources to 46 businesses that are adding almost 2,000 jobs in Fairfax County. Most of these businesses are in the information technology and professional services sectors, and nine are foreign-based firms using a Fairfax County location to expand in North America.

One of the most prominent announcements came from Chantilly-based consultant TASC, which provides systems engineering and decision-support services to the intelligence and defense communities and is adding 494 jobs to the county economy.

Other businesses that are creating jobs in Fairfax County: 

• OMNIPLEX World Services Corporation, which provides security services to government agencies, adding 325 jobs;
• ServiceSource, a nonprofit organization that develops customized programs and employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, adding 209 jobs;
• Deltek, which provides software and services for government contractors, adding 99 jobs; and,
• Volkswagen of America, the automaker based in Germany, adding 82 jobs.
