U.S. and U.K. technology investment survey by the Fairfax County EDA garners international press coverage
In March 2008, the Fairfax County EDA commissioned parallel surveys in the United States and Great Britain asking respondents to choose their top priority for technological breakthroughs in the next decade. In a surprising result, the chief priority for four in 10 Americans was “alternative fuels and energy efficiency” — topping medical breakthroughs (i.e. a cure for cancer or treatment for heart disease), which ranked second with 30 percent. In Great Britain, these results were reversed: 38 percent favored medical breakthroughs, while 33 percent chose alternative fuels and energy efficiency.
Media throughout the U.S. and U.K., along with outlets in Canada and India, reported on the findings. Print and online coverage included pieces from Reuters, Sarasota Herald Tribune, WSJ.com, Forbes.com, dBusinessNews.com, PCworld.com, ABCNews.com, Figuratively Speaking, AlternativeEnergy.com and Tech Journal South.
Below is a selection of the U.S. broadcast coverage.
