In addition to its headquarters in Tysons Corner, Fairfax County's largest business district, the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority maintains six offices around the world—in Germany, India, Israel, Korea, the United Kingdom and Los Angeles—to assist companies that want to expand in the U.S. market. The FCEDA carefully studies world markets to find locations with companies that offer goods and services that the best fit with the business community in Fairfax County and the Washington, D.C., area. The FCEDA opened a London office in 1998 to assist the more than 60 British firms that have a presence in Fairfax County. UK companies make up the largest group of foreign-owned firms in the county.

The FCEDA office in Bangalore, India opened in 2004 to capitalize on tremendous growth in the Indian technology community. The office assists Indian companies considering a U.S. presence in Fairfax County. Nearly 20 companies from India have operations in the county.

The Tel Aviv office opened in 2004 to assist Israeli companies interested in U.S. expansion. Israel is considered a springboard for many innovative companies in information technology and biotechnology making an excellent match with Fairfax County's strong IT and bioinformatics sectors. The FCEDA office in Seoul opened in 2005 to serve the growing number of Asian firms that are interested in a U.S. business location. Almost 50 Korean companies have a presence in Fairfax County, making it one of the largest contingents of foreign-owned companies here, and the FCEDA is building awareness of Fairfax County business assets for Korean companies.
