    CH2M is a full-service engineering infrastructure firm specializing in environmental, manufacturing, energy, transportation and water.

    CH2M was established in 1946 in Corvallis, Oregon.
  3. What is the origin of your company/organization name? 
    CH2M stands for Cornell, Howland, Hayes and Merryfield. Fred Merryfield was a professor at Oregon State University and founded the firm with three of his students.
  4. Who owns your company/organization?
    CH2M is the second-largest privately owned company in the world. Our employees, both current and former, are the owners of our company.
  5. What is the main business focus of your Fairfax County office?
    Our Herndon office is primarily comprised of our Environmental & Nuclear, Transportation and Water businesses. 
  6. When did you open your Fairfax County office? 
    In the early 1970s when awarded the contract to design the greenfield water reclamation facility for the Upper Occoquan Service Authority (UOSA).

    We serve a diverse mix of clients including several federal agencies, notably the Navy, as well as the Virginia Department of Transportation, the District of Columbia Department of Transportation, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) and a litany of municipal water and wastewater utilities including Fairfax County, Fairfax Water, UOSA, DC Water, Alexandria Renew Enterprises, Loudoun Water, Leesburg and the Prince William County Service Authority.
