Federal Schedules Inc.

1. What does your company/organization do?
Federal Schedules, Inc., is a government contract consultant that has specialized in the GSA Schedule Contract since the early stages of the General Services Administration (GSA) Schedules Program in the 1980s.
2. When was it established?
Federal Schedules, Inc., was formed in 1986 by Roxanne Dobrynski who, at the time, held over a decade of experience in the government contract industry.  Julie Crosby now leads the company under the same principles of dedication to proficiency, innovative vision, and relationship building that propelled the company forward nearly 30 years ago.
3. What is the origin of your company/organization name?
Our name is a take on what we do – we help companies obtain and manage GSA Schedule Contracts, also known as Federal Supply Schedules or simply “Schedules”.  GSA Schedule Contracts were created to simplify the federal procurement process.  While originally meant for just federal agencies, GSA Schedule Contracts are now open for usage, under certain circumstances, by state and local government entities.
4. Who owns your company/organization?
Federal Schedules, Inc., is 100 percent employee-owned.  This is a significant source of pride for our company and a distinguishing factor in our industry. An Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) was first established in 1998 to provide employees with a direct stake in the company.  In December of 2012, Federal Schedules transitioned to 100% employee stock ownership.  As owners, our employees have a substantial, vested interest in the success and growth of the company which translates to the service we provide our clients.
5. What is the main business focus of your Fairfax County office?
The focus of our business is the acquisition and management of GSA and VA Schedule Contracts. This ranges from conducting feasibility assessments, developing pricing strategies, and performing compliance audits to proposal writing, contract negotiations and post-award contract management.
6. When did you open your Fairfax County office?
Federal Schedules has been located in Fairfax County since our founding in 1986.
7. Who are your primary customers?
We work with government contractors from all industries ranging from small, disadvantaged businesses, to non-profit organizations and educational institutions, to Fortune 100 companies.
8. What sets you apart from your competitors?
Our length in business, full-service support, experience and reputation in the industry, team dynamic, and employee-ownership are just a few things that set Federal Schedules, Inc. apart from potential competition.
9. What are the advantages of a Fairfax County location for your business/organization?
Fairfax County is the epicenter of the government contracting community.  While we serve clients worldwide, Fairfax County is a prime location for our target client base. Since fiscal year 2010, Virginia has been the number one state for federal contract spending by place of performance. In fiscal year 2014, companies located in Fairfax County took in over $10 billion in GSA Schedule Contract sales, which is more than 30% of total GSA Schedule Contract sales.
10. What direction do you see your company/organization heading in the next five years?
Federal Schedules is on track for continuous growth over the next five years.  GSA is currently in the midst of a significant consolidation effort and may be on the brink of additional changes to the GSA Schedules Program.
Federal Schedules has been successful over the years, partly because of our ability to evolve with changes to acquisition policy and solicitation requirements, as well as transitions in personnel.  We have the bandwidth to closely monitor program changes and industry trends, yet as a company, we are small enough to remain agile and readily adapt to best meet the needs of government contractors.
