Fairfax County, Virginia – The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA), in partnership with the Korea Information Security Industry Association (KISIA) will present a cybersecurity forum on September 5.

Nine cybersecurity companies from South Korea are expected to be on hand for the event which will be held at FCEDA headquarters, 8300 Boone Boulevard, Tysons Corner, Va., from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The companies involved are working on innovative solutions to protect valuable assets from some of the world’s toughest cyber threats, including North Korea, Eastern Europe and China. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with the representatives of these companies.

“As cyber attacks become more sophisticated, it has become increasingly important to look at cybersecurity from a global perspective,” said Gerald L. Gordon, Ph.D., president and CEO of the FCEDA. “Fairfax County is at the heart of this effort with more than 450 firms actively engaged in cybersecurity, so it’s only natural that we should host this international event along with KISIA.”

Among those scheduled to speak are James Burris, president of Ashburn Consulting, who will address cybersecurity, infrastructure, regional collaboration and challenges facing Fairfax County; Tony Welz and Evan Weisel of W2 Communications with a presentation about ways to marketing cybersecurity services and products; and Asher Kotz, the FCEDA’s business development manager, cybersecurity, who will discuss the cybersecurity ecosystem and U.S. industry trends.
