FCEDA names International Advisory Council to assist companies from India seeking a place in the U.S. market

Fairfax County, Virginia The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) has selected International Advisory Council (IAC) as its India representative to work with companies there considering expansion to the United States.

IAC, which has offices in four cities in India, is a boutique advisory firm that provides cross-border trade and consultancy services to organizations and companies planning to expand globally. IAC acts as advisor to companies and government trade and investment promotion agencies.  The company has worked with many investment promotion agencies in Europe, Asia, the United Kingdom and the U.S., and has helped more than 200 companies to expand outside of India.

Ashish Mehta in IAC’s Mumbai office and Bonny Agarwal in the company’s Bangalore office will promote FCEDA initiatives in India. Their work began October 1.

The FCEDA’s Indian representatives promote Fairfax County as one of the world’s best business locations and provide information and services to companies with an interest in expanding operations to Fairfax County, especially those in technology-related industries. The outreach in India is part of a comprehensive approach to promote Fairfax County in important technology markets.

“Numerous Indian companies have already found success in Fairfax County, which is recognized as a U.S. hub for cybersecurity, health technology, software and telecommunications firms of all sizes,” said Gerald L. Gordon, Ph.D., president and CEO of the FCEDA. “Making companies aware of the benefits that Fairfax County can offer is an important task. We’re happy to have IAC on board to help spread the word and provide information to companies seeking to take their game to the international level.”

Mehta and Agarwal understand the benefits that having a Fairfax County location can provide and are ready to provide assistance to help companies from India proceed with confidence, especially in this era of expanding business connections between India and the U.S.

“IAC is positive that with the growing economies of the U.S. and India, it is impossible to limit trade between the two nations,” said Mehta, who will serve as director of FCEDA India operations. “Trade is bound to flourish and we are geared up to partner with FCEDA and offer its services to Indian companies that are interested in expanding and setting up in the U.S.”

“So many Indian companies are looking to expand into the U.S., we simply need to tap into the right audience to advance the idea that Fairfax County is the ideal location for expansion in the U.S.,” Agarwal said.

The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority’s Bangalore office opened in 2004 to work with Indian companies interested in expanding in the U.S. market. Close to 30 Indian companies are part of the dynamic, diverse Fairfax County business community. In all, more than 430 foreign-owned companies from 47 nations have a presence in Fairfax County.
