Gift guide showcases Made in Fairfax network of local artisans and their creations

The holiday shopping season is here, starting with Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. Supporting our local small business community is the driving force behind the Made in Fairfax initiative. The Made in Fairfax network aims to be a one-stop shop that spotlights an incredibly large and diverse group of artisan makers. The Made in Fairfax Directory, created by the created by the Community Revitalization Section of the Fairfax County Department of Planning and Development, features dozens of artisans who create a wide variety of products all around the county.

Ali Morris at Visit Fairfax, the county’s official tourism and hospitality promotion group, created the Fairfax County 2021 Holiday Gift Guide to showcase gift-worthy products created right here and the artisans behind the creations. You can shop by these categories: art and designs; body; chocolate; coffee; food; kids; pets; stocking stuffers; textiles; wine, beer and spirits. Check it out!

Here at the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, we are thankful for a dynamic, diverse business community — from our artisan makers to our small and minority-owned businesses to our brand-name Fortune 500 companies — that makes Fairfax County a special place to live, work, play and learn. And here’s a tip of the ol’ editor’s green eyeshades to all our loyal E-Bird readers — we really appreciate your interest in the amazing things happening here.

On behalf of everyone at the FCEDA, Happy Thanksgiving to all!
