FCEDA, Digital Chamber of Commerce to present June 12 discussion of cryptocurrency security tokens and raising business capital

The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) and the Chamber of Digital Commerce will present a June 12 panel discussion about cryptocurrency security tokens and how this blockchain-based technology can be used by companies to raise capital. The event will happen at the FCEDA’s Tysons offices.

“Security Tokens 101: Blockchain-Based Investing in Growing Businesses” will feature a panel of experts including Ben DiScipio of Fundopolis, Barbara Jones of Greenberg Traurig, LLP, David Levine of Indeco and Bennett Moore of RSM US. FCEDA Director of National Marketing Rodney Lusk will moderate the panel.

Security tokens have emerged as the latest hot topic in the world of crypto assets. Leveraging blockchain technology, they offer a new opportunity for companies to access capital, improve asset liquidity, and reduce transaction costs while improving efficiency and transparency in fundraising.

In one of their most promising applications, security token offerings can enable businesses to raise money via crowdfunding utilizing blockchain technology. What are security tokens, how do they work, how do they relate to blockchain, and what do financial regulators think of them? The discussion promises to examine both sides of the coin.

Lunch and ample time for networking will follow the panel discussion.

The event is free to attend but registration is required and seating is limited. Click here to reserve your place.
