FCEDA to present May 20 ‘Back to Business’ online conference on pandemic recovery strategies

The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) is presenting an online conference, “Back to Business: Resilience, Recovery and Moving Forward,” on Wednesday, May 20 from 8 a.m. to 11:10 a.m.

Three panel discussions will be held during the event featuring regional business leaders who will discuss the ways that they have modified and adapted their business operations during the pandemic and how to successfully move forward during the recovery.

“Strategic planning for conducting business now and through all of the phases of the pandemic recovery is vital for companies,” said Victor Hoskins, president and CEO of the FCEDA. “We are pleased to host this online conference featuring a group of notable regional business leaders who will provide their insight on staying resilient, recovering, moving forward – and growing stronger in the post-COVID future.”

Launching the event, the first session will focus on “Business Best Practices” and strategies to address business continuity in unprecedented times. Moderated by Jatinder Khosla, business investment manager, Europe, FCEDA, panelists will be: Gautam Ijoor, president, Alpha Omega Integration; Mark Hartmann, 3D spatial analyst, Vricon; and Ashish Deshmukh, head of business development, Newgen.

During the second session, John Blair, FCEDA, will moderate a panel on “Technology to the Rescue” featuring Tom Dunlap, partner, DBL Lawyers; Borzou Azabdaftari, owner, The Falcon Lab; and Moe Jafari, CEO, Coras; president and CEO, HumanTouch. The presenters will talk about how their company has used or provided technology to keep business running as usual during the shutdown.

The final session in the presentation trilogy will concentrate on “Perspectives and Testimonials: Future of Workforce,” featuring Michael Batt, manager, Talent Initiatives Program, FCEDA; Ashley Hoffman, vice president for business development and strategic partnerships, Brazen Technologies; and Andy Galloway, consulting analyst, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

FCEDA’s president and CEO Victor Hoskins will provide the opening remarks and Alex Iams, executive vice president, FCEDA, will deliver the closing remarks following the presentations.
