FCEDA, Virginia Israel Advisory Board to host Israeli defense manufacturing delegation for Feb. 3 conference

Fairfax County, Virginia, January 16, 2020 – The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) and the Virginia Israel Advisory Board (VIAB) will co-host an Israeli defense manufacturing delegation on February 3, 2020.

The conference, Israel-Virginia Technology Innovation and Collaboration, will focus on the latest trends in the U.S. and in Israel in defense, aerospace, homeland security, border and infrastructure protection, and marine and land tactical surveillance. In addition, there will be an opportunity for one-on-one meetings to explore partnerships between Israeli and Virginia companies.

At the invitation of Governor Ralph Northam, the International Defense Cooperation Directorate of the Israel Ministry of Defense (SIBAT), is bringing a delegation of 17 Israeli companies to visit Virginia to explore collaboration and investments in the local economy. The delegation will be comprised of Israeli company representatives with advanced technologies and manufacturing capabilities in areas such as avionics, autonomous systems, naval technologies and public safety.

“This event will provide an outstanding opportunity for attendees and Virginia companies to hear presentations by Israeli defense manufacturing company executives and explore partnerships with them,” said Victor Hoskins, president and CEO of the FCEDA.

Israeli companies, including the three largest Israeli defense contractors, are seeking to source $100 million of goods and services; develop research and development, manufacturing and sales partnerships, as well as meet with state agencies, counties and cities to understand their requirements for Homeland Security, intelligence and law enforcement-related technologies.

The companies can provide homeland security agencies, law enforcement/SWAT teams and critical infrastructure with the most innovative and operationally proven technologies in the world. The companies are working in these markets:

  • UAV and aerostats; counter UAV; sea-based unmanned systems for National Guard and the  Coast Guard;
  • Securing critical infrastructure – using fiber infrastructure; OSint; unmanned systems;
  • Police/SWAT – Intelligence; event management; breaching; training; robotic and non-lethal intervention;
  • Port security and intelligence – drugs, human trafficking; logistics; intelligence on crews, vessel cargo; and
  • City and county government resources, infrastructure management and event response management.

The Israeli companies that will be in attendance include: AccuBeat, A.D.L., Astronautics, BLER Systems, CityShob, Colugo, DSIT Solutions, ELBIT Systems, General Robotics, IAI, MAGAM Safety, Magna, Rafael, RT LTA Systems, SHILAT Optronics, Windward.
