FCEDA’s “Securing the Remote Workforce and Essential Government Services” webinar set for Dec. 3

The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA), in partnership with the Northern Virginia Economic Development Alliance, will present a free webinar on December 3, “Securing the Remote Workforce and Essential Government Services,” featuring industry experts and local government information security leaders. The event will begin at 9 a.m.

The first discussion, “Challenges to Delivering Secure Essential Services,” will feature Mike Dent, chief information security officer (CISO) of Fairfax County; Charles Gore, the IT security manager for Loudoun County; and Anthony Harvey, CISO of the city of Alexandria.

 

The second discussion, “Working Remotely: The Risks and Solutions,” will feature these panelists: Ellen Sundra, vice president of Global Systems Engineering at Forescout Technologies; Viral Trivedi, chief business officer at Ampcus Cyber; Dean Iacovelli, director, Modern Work and Security, at Microsoft; and Poupak Afshar, CEO of Easy Dynamics. Asher Kotz, business investment manager, cybersecurity and Israel, at the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, will moderate this panel.

Question-and-answer sessions will follow each panel.

Welcoming remarks for the webinar will be delivered by Jessica Gulick, CEO and founder of Katzcy, and Alex Iams, executive vice president of the FCEDA. Fairfax County Supervisor Walter L. Alcorn (Hunter Mill District), who chairs the Board of Supervisors’ Information Technology Committee, will provide opening remarks.
