Services for Your Small Business

Communities need mentoring. Entrepreneurs need support. Small businesses need help to thrive.

The FCEDA knows this and provides business-counseling services through an arrangement with SCORE, a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration.

SCORE, “Service Corps of Retired Executives,” is a nationwide, non-profit volunteer association with more than 12,000 retired and active business owners and executives. SCORE provides one-on-one counseling and mentoring, low-cost business-related workshops and FREE house calls to your business location to conduct business reviews. The Washington, D.C., area chapter has more than 50 expert volunteer members to assist you.

Counselors are available in Virginia, D.C. and Maryland. They all share one goal: to give small businesses what they need to succeed.

A SCORE counselor is available, by appointment only, every Wednesday and Thursday. These virtual appointments are for one hour and must be scheduled in advance. To request a meeting with a SCORE counselor at the FCEDA office, please call 703-790-0600 or look online at www.washingtondc.score.org.

If you are unable to make your appointment with the SCORE counselor, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance to cancel. NOTE: Appointments will be canceled when Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) announces delays or cancels classes due to inclement weather or other impediments. FCPS announces delays or cancellations on its website, www.fcps.edu and on local television and radio stations.
