Protection and emergency response firm Global Guardian celebrates Tysons Corner expansion with ribbon-cutting

Fairfax County, Virginia—Global Guardian, a provider of comprehensive security solutions, celebrated a major office expansion in Tysons Corner with a ribbon-cutting ceremony this afternoon.

Robby Demeria, Virginia’s deputy secretary of commerce and trade for technology, and Gerald L. Gordon, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA), were among those joining company directors and board members at the ceremony.

Global Guardian, which provides comprehensive security and emergency response services that are tailored to the individual needs of its global client base, has tripled the size of its network operations center and offices facilities at 8280 Greensboro Drive.

Founded in 2012, the company committed to a $1.3 million investment in February 2017 to acquire additional workspace and invest in specialized training to create 22 new jobs, but says that investment has grown to approximately $1,8 million.

Global Guardian, which specializes in high-volume travelers and their employers, offers an integrated suite of security services that help clients identify and mitigate the risks associated with travel and doing business both overseas and domestically.

“Given the nature of its international security and response business, Global Guardian is an example of a great company that one would not find in most regions of the country,” Gordon said. “We’re thrilled that the company is not only growing, but expanding its footprint in Fairfax County along with its reach globally.”

“The launch of our new office illustrates the tremendous success of our business and the exceptional support provided to us from local government agencies,” said Global Guardian CEO Dale Buckner, prior to accepting a Virginia state flag from Demeria and leading a tour of the new facilities, including the state-of-the-art Operations Center. The company staffs the center 24/7 with highly-trained security analysts, the majority of whom have military, special operations and federal law enforcement experience.

“Much of our growth can be attributed to operating in the Fairfax region, where the quality of talent and the attractive business environment provides incredible resources for businesses like Global Guardian. We look forward to continuing to build our business, hire exceptional employees from the surrounding area, and invest in the local community that has been so instrumental in our growth. This is our home and we’re not going anywhere.”

Buckner said that his company’s success has stemmed from its ability to offer a premium level of service and to respond to clients in their greatest moments of distress. Global Guardian’s services include personnel tracking, emergency response, security and transportation support, intelligence and due diligence medical support and transportation, emergency and custom aviation, cyber security, and video surveillance monitoring.

“Through our on-the-ground emergency response teams in over 100 countries, we provide emergency response capabilities in minutes and hours, helping our clients protect their most valuable assets — their people,” Buckner said. “Examples of our execution capabilities involve the evacuation of hundreds of corporate travelers affected by hurricanes, dispatching security agents to serve as crisis management advisors after active shooter situations, complex medical evacuations on three continents, the launch of an employee tracking platform, and thousands of medical and security cases for the nearly 2 million individual travelers who access our services through their corporate security programs.”
